Fraudulent messages sent through Meetup com

All members are advised that once again fraudulent messages are being sent out using Meetup com as the means. These messages run along the lines of "I am dying (or some relative, usually husband or father has died) and wish to leave you the sum of $XXX million to be invested in a good cause, etc etc" or "You/your email have won $XXX amt through some lottery or the other". I am amazed that at this day and age these fraudsters still think that we are so gullible as to fall for their tricks, but then I suppose there are always stupid/greedy/naive people out there who would do so! I would like to think that our members are more sophisticated than that, but nevertheless I think a warning is timely. I have reported the senders of these messages to Meetup com for them to action it, but if any of you get any such messages, please report them to [address removed], making sure that you reproduce as much info as possible (user name, content of communication).
