I've hiked more in the past, in Mendon Ponds Park, and along the Rt. 390 trails. Cycling in fair weather is more enjoyable, but hiking more convenient, more intimate.
I lived near Atlanta, Georgia for about a year, some time ago. I loved hiking in the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. There was something surreal in the air, cold but dry, and with bright sun. I almost literally stumbled onto a shallow grave, hand dug, after one Civil War soldier was buried in place, almost as if cobblestones were piled in on top of him. Most of those graves were exhumed decades ago, and the remains placed in a nearby cemetery, but a handful were overlooked, and finally left alone.
I'm sure Buffalo and Niagara Falls offer some nice urban or industrial hikes. The Niagara River Gorge is nice and not too far away.
Hello. I'd say I enjoy outdoor activities like bicycling, hiking, camping and an occasional jog. I've been trying to keep active, and group activities with contemporaries sure beat LA Fitness, alone. I enjoy photography and domestic travel as well.
