New Meetup: Adirondack Backpack--- suitable for beginners, fun for experts.

Announcing a new Meetup for The Rochester Hiking Meetup Group!

What: Adirondack Backpack--- suitable for beginners, fun for experts.

When: Saturday, September 18,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Bushnell's Basin Park & Ride
Route 96 Bushnell's Basin
Perinton, NY 14450

Fall is here. The temp is cooler which means less bugs and the warmth of a campfire is welcome. This is a relatively easy backpacking trip, so beginners are welcome. An Adirondack Leanto is as the site for those who like to see some signs of man. Also for those who care to sleep in it instead of a tent.

The drive is 3hrs from Rochester. We will meet at the Bushnell's Basin Park & Ride at 7am and be on the road by 7:15.

From the trailhead, the hike will be about 4.5miles to the Gull Lake Leanto. We will set up camp, explore (there might still be a boat stashed up there), and enjoy the splendor of the Adirondacks. On Sunday the hike out will be about 3 miles taking a slightly different route back to the trailhead.

We will return to the Park & Ride around 2-3pm. Unfortunately this means we will miss Kristin's HiTor hike.
