“ I think it's tremendously valuable just to be with others who understand what living with fibro is like. Without words we already know - and we can either talk about fibro if there is a pressing issue for someone, or just hang out and relax, knowing we are among friends who understand and appreciate the challenges we live with. ”

“ Love it. So nice to see everyone. ”
— on Jul 6, 2013.
“ I enjoyed it or the most part. I have only one complaint. I found the group somewhat rude and it was overwhelming for me because everyone seemed to want everyone to listen to only their issues. Everyone was talking over everyone while we went around introducing ourselves and said what our disabilities were. I become very nervous when everybody talks all at once. I never got to finish my story because everyone started talking in their own little groups and forgot about me. This hurt my feelings and made me feel unimportant. It made me think nobody really cared what was going on with me. Also, when people get in little groups and start mumbling among themselves, I can't focus or hear what they're saying. This is also rude and overwhelming for me. I'll try next months meeting and see if things are any better. If not, then I don't feel like I fit in. ”

I felt comfortable to talk about what i had been going through. I was able to.learn new information that othrrs shared could be helpful to me. I hope to be able to help others with information i have experienced and shared so it could be earned from me as well. ”

“ I think Sue has been keeping this group going since 2003. I wish I had joined a long time ago. Everyone was supportive and nice to be around. Anyone that doesn't know how to cope with the pain can get some good ideas. If you already know how to deal with it, but just want to be around people that understand, this is your group. ”

“ I think that this group is something that is definitely needed. I also think that so many other individuals haven't been told about the Fibromyalgia group meetings. I wish that somehow we could get the word out so that others may benefit with this serious cronic pain that is debilitating. I am so glad that I was able to work through the pain and have the opportunity to actually experience meeting with the group today. ”

“ When you are not in the meetup group, you miss shared feelings and the understanding from other people who have been through it. If you try to share your feelings with those who do not have fibro, they just don't get it. Here is a place where you can talk about anything regarding fibro and never wonder if they understand because they "get it". ”

“ would suggest that we each try to bring a printed list of doctors or other practitioners we have seen with some contact info to pass on to the group...also list any meds or alternative treatments that have worked or failed for you...I gave a lot of info but it is easy to forget names...FM aside we all have busy lives. ”
