At this happy hour we are going to be collecting toys to donate to Toys for Tots! I've listed some information/FAQs below about what you can bring in to donate. Due to a severely delayed response from Stoney's we were not able to post this any sooner.
Stoney's is offering $1 Shiner Bock pints for each of you that donate a toy!
Meet people to carpool and ride with! It's always a good time with the DBC!
Remember… Meters in front of the bar and in the area are free after 6!
We will also be playing cornhole and skee-ball, so bring some quarters to join in on the skee-ball fun.
Normal Happy Hour includes 2 for 1s on select drafts, wells, $4 margs and $5 HH food. Happy Hour prices run 4PM-7PM and then Trivia HH with $3 Millers, $4 Captain 7-10! Then late night HH kicks in at 10PM.
We also have our own drink specials and food specials once the first HH ends.
Bring your friends, snowboarders or not. All are welcomed!
TOYS for TOTS info/FAQs:
Q: What ages are supported by Toys for Tots?
A: Most campaign sites are able to assist children up to age 12, but in many local communities, local support is such that the age limit may be extended to 14-16.
Q: Is there a list of toys available to guide me with my donation?
A: Toys for Tots does not publish a list of appropriate toys to donate. If such a list were created, most would follow it, resulting in a limited selection of items to distribute in each community. We would rather our donors consider what might be an appropriate gift for their own child/relative, purchase the item, and donate to Toys for Tots.
Q: Pre-teen/teens are groups for which shopping is especially difficult. Do you have any ideas?
A: The Foundation does purchase supplemental toys/gifts for our campaign sites and focuses on these age groups. In the past, items purchased for these groups have included, but are not limited to: sporting equipment/bags/balls; books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers.
Q: Are there toys/gifts that are not accepted/distributed?
A: Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food. If donated, such items will NOT be distributed.
Please make sure your new gift/donation is not wrapped.
Had a blast. Nice to meet everyone last night. Cheers!
