Friends of Berthoud Pass - Avalanche Awareness Course

As a result of the gracious donations Friends of Berthoud Pass have received from their sponsors, members and rippers in the community who have attended the previous classroom and on-snow courses, FOBP proudly continues their series of free avalanche awareness classes for the 2012-2013 season.

Classroom Sessions: Avalanche Awareness

FOBP provides backcountry travelers with an overview of avalanche awareness, avoidance, forecasting and rescue.

Topics such as route selection, hazard minimization, best practices, preparedness and terrain analysis are covered in a 2-hour presentation.

No registration is required. The class begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public and FREE of charge.

Donations are gratefully accepted and benefit FOBP's 501(c)(3) non-profit grassroots avalanche education program.

I hope they have another class, there was way more than the 33 people that RSVP and there was no where to sit or stand.

An incredible amount of info, actually enough to make me realize I need way more training and practice before going backcountry.

Due to the venue size and the number attending we may not be able all sit together. I will have a small DBC sign with me to try to get us all together but we may be dispersed. If you have any questions text 720-432-1DBC.
