Raw Vegan picnic and demo

Bring along a plate of raw vegan food to share, as well as your own plate/cup/cutlery/rug. Look out for the red and white RAW banner!

If you are facing the beach, we will be about 100m - 150m to the left of Indiana Tea Rooms, on the grassed area. A bit to the side of the central picnic area so that we have a little more space to ourselves!

This time we will have a non-cooking demo of a raw food mystery platter...'cause it hasn't been decided yet by either Denise King or Susanne Wilder or both food goddesses!

If you aren't comfortable making raw food you can always bring something simple to share like a platter of fruit, or you are welcome to opt not to eat anything and just come for the company if that suits you better :)

Had a great time at the picnic and am looking forward to the next one. Is there any way I can get the recipe for the Nectarine and Mint salad that was there, any the little chocolate balls? They were both sooo good.

      Hi Louise,
The nectarine salad was super simple - just peaches, nectarines, mint, and frozen berries!

Hi Everyone. Thanks for such a great day on sunday. I left feeling inspired and happy having met such lovely people and also having tasted such amazing healthy food. A few people asked me about my raw 'pasta' dish so here is the recipe... enjoy:

Appliances required - a spiralizer. I got mine from the the raw cafe in Freo for about $30.

    Ingredients and instructions for 'pasta':
    1 zucchini
    1 carrot.
    Spiralize into a bowl.

Ingredients and instructions for the spinach cream dressing:
    1 cup of macadamia nuts
    Half a cup of water
1 cup of coconut flakes (certified organic and gluten free)
    1 clove garlic
    2 cups of spinach
Half a cup of lemon (squeezed)
    pinch himalayan salt

Place ingredients into a high speed blender (preferably a Vitamix) and blend until smooth.

Pour dressing onto 'pasta'. Add dulse flakes (seaweed) and pumpkin kernels to taste....Enjoy and I look forward to receiving some of your recipes. Cassie

Fun and informative. I think it will be great if we rotate a short dem with each of our members and they could bring a recipe or post it.

Unfortunately, we were not able to make it for the demo, but the result was amazing! I really enjoyed the picnic today, except the flies! It was a great group of people, and everyone contributed with wonderful dishes, I loved every one of them! Looking forward to catching up in a months time! Mona

can the food be high raw as opposed to full? mine involves a sauce that uses pure maple and soy sauce (just a touch). I know these aren't technically raw, so just wondering!

I can no longer make it :(
