How to Get Off Maillist

From: user 5.

Hi Folks
You do not know me, but I somehow got on your rlccef mail list. I am inundated with your timely messages, some interesting, some not, but I would like to get off the list. I got here by accident, now I want off.
How do I do that?
Thanks.

Matt,

Here's a summary from FreedomWorks, including the "compromise". What a swell group of people! And there is a difference between the 2 parties?  Yeah right!

Get prepared....voting just encourages these slime balls.

I’m working on a summary this morning, Vickie. Just need to get my hands on exactly what was passed, as there was a “compromise” earlier in the day and I’m not clear which was passed (both were bad for the grassroots, though). Stand by.

Bob,

As a novice in politics (before we moved was a due paying member of the RLCCEF)....please explain what happened yesterday at the RNC? I worked all day and went to bed early. This is heart-felt not sarcastic. I love that I still get these threads because I have learned so much from each of you.

Blessings,

Roger,
Before you reply to Matt's post you should know that I concur with everything he has said. Frank has taken a principled stand in response to what happened yesterday at the RNC convention. He has remained true to his values and principles. As we say at our meetings, "principle over party, always". If that means for him that he feels he must resign as a member of the BREC because of the loyalty oath, that many of us disdain, then I support his decision. I will choose to stay and continue to fight. Frank has chosen to leave the BREC but I'm sure he will continue to fight. It's a difficult decision for many of us.

There has been much unnecessary vitriol and antagonistic sarcasm contained in many of the posts on some of these recent threads by individuals on both sides of these issues, not just you. It's interesting that most of these personal attacks have come from individuals who are not even members of the RLCCEF. We believe in freedom of speech so we try to keep it open and uncensored, but the over the top nature of much of it ultimately can damage the organization.

As Matt said, we've been polite, and I would add respectful, in the attempts we have both made over the last several days to get all parties to put a check on their attitudes and rhetoric. It seems to quiet things down for a time but then a new topic appears and you somehow find a way to tie it back to your "anybody but Obama" position and insult the person or persons who posted. Not just to you, but to everyone who has engaged in this behavior, enough is enough.

If our ultimate goal is to restore our Constitutional Republic we all need to understand that it will take much more than just getting Obama out of the white house. That is a necessary step,  but we better not be deluded into believing that is all it will take.

Bob White,
Chairman, RLCCEF

Roger, this post makes it clear you LITERALLY don’t have a clue as to what is going on here or what Frank is talking about or why he is doing what he is doing. You are so eager to judge people with your preconceived notions regarding “sour grapes Ron Paul people” that you don’t bother with the facts and stoop to personal insults when there is absolutely no call for them.

You have contributed little of substance to this conversation, and worse, instead of placing the blame on the RNC for driving grassroots people away by doing something everyone one of us should be screaming about, you are insulting those who were here before you and worked their asses off to clean up the local party and the Republican Party of Florida.

Given your apparent inability to grasp the significance of what happened at the convention yesterday (do you even know what happened at the convention yesterday?), and the fact you aren’t a dues paid member, I’m going to personally ask that you refrain from posting here any further. I’m also going to recommend to the local board we either a) turn on list moderation or b) consider making this a members only forum.

I made what I thought was a simple, polite request a little less than 24 hours ago, and instead of honoring it, you’ve doubled down on your anti-Paul rhetoric and the personal insults. While I can understand you were provoked by Sean’s comments, Frank has done nothing but honestly and candidly discuss his assessment of the facts in a cordial and professional fashion – your response here is not only uninformed,  but downright insulting and inappropriate, and I don’t appreciate it. I think it’s time you find somewhere else to post.

And for the record, the Republican Party has never been up to my standards, Roger, and it has nothing to do with Romney.

Frank,
I must say, I must have misjudged you.  I thought you were a man with more conviction than to quit because your favorite candidate wasn't picked for the first string.

Take your ball and go home if you want to, but don't try to insinuate that the Republican Party is suddenly not up to YOUR standards because Mitt Romney was nominated.

The real hypocrisy lies in your actions.

Dear Madam Chairwoman Davis,

First and foremost, I hope you are enjoying your time at the Republican National Convention.  As I understand the results there this afternoon, Mr. Mitt Romney officially clinched the nomination as the Republican candidate for President of the United States and the remainder of the week is a formality in this regard.  Congratulations to Mr. Romney.

The purpose of this e-mail correspondence is to inform you that, effective immediately, I resign my position as a precinct committeeman in the Brevard Republican Executive Committee.

I resigned my precinct committeeman position for only one reason: I am unable to abide by our Party Loyalty Oath at this time.  Since I respect the rule of law and try to avoid hypocrisy to the best of my ability, my resignation was therefore required.  I have enjoyed my time as a precinct committeeman on the Brevard Republican Executive Committee over the past three and a half years.  I remain a member of the Republican Party and I remain committed to effecting change within the Republican Party as outlined in my recent campaign for State Committeeman.

Madam Chairwoman, thank you for receiving my resignation correspondence and I hope you enjoy the remainder of the Convention.

Sincerely,

Frank Zilaitis
