First and foremost thank you for sending out the previous email to our constituents stating my position regarding the Executive Orders and Actions that were recently signed.  I applaud everyone's engagement and deep concern over the matter as I have received a large amount of emails regarding my position and where I stand on the 2nd Amendment.  I saw some of the follow-up emails in response to your original email and wanted to make sure that I made perfectly clear my position on this matter.  If you would please share my below comments with your email group I would greatly appreciate it as it serves to let everyone know they can depend on me.

"On January 7, 2013, I proudly took the Oath of Office to support the United States Constitution and the Florida Constitution.  My position remains very clear, I am a Constitutional Sheriff, supported and endorsed by the original Constitutional Sheriff, Richard Mack and the NRA. They openly supported me because I not only support our great Nation's Constitution, but stand ready to oppose anyone who would attempt to trample our citizen's rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution.  Like you I hope and pray that it never comes to that, but if it does it will be true patriots like myself that stand in defense of such egregious violations of our rights.

The Oath of Office I took just 17 days ago is the most important Oath I could ever take in my life.  It stands to represent my commitment and understanding that I am the strongest line of defense our citizens have!!  I shall always uphold this important Oath, to include supporting the Second Amendment to the Constitution and opposing those who would disregard its relevance.  The right to bear arms is fundamental to our individual freedoms and is deeply rooted in the American way of life.  That's my position, always has been, always will be!

This coming week I will be meeting with all of the Sheriff's of the State of Florida to discuss in detail this issue and many others that potentially could impact our citizens.  Please know that I am closely monitoring this concerning issue and stand ready to serve as your Brevard County Sheriff."

Thank you again for sharing this with your email group and I look forward to speaking at your upcoming meeting.

Sheriff, Brevard County
