*** THREATENED USE OF FORCE BILL TO BE HEARD IN SENATE WEDNESDAY JANUARY 8 ***
SB 448, Threatened Use of Force

WHAT: (click to read the bills, about 7 pages) SB 448 and the companion HB 89 deal with people threatening to use force, notably deadly force. This bill is needed due to certain prosecutorial abuses where people have been incarcerated under minimum mandatory laws due to their threatening to use deadly force, such as firing a warning shot. SB 448 has three committees to clear. HB 89 has 39 co-sponsors and has already cleared one of three committees. We will send out updates as the bill moves in the House.

WHEN: Wednesday January[masked] at 9 AM

WHERE: Senate Criminal Justice Committee, Senate Office Building Room 37
