We are moving our February meeting to the 4th Saturday, so we can participate in Engineering Day at the Adventure Science Center.  Bring any projects you are working on to share with the ASC visitors. Plan on attending even if you don't have a project to show off.  The even will last from 10am to 4pm, but you don't have to stay the whole time.  We will be set-up on the first floor for Engineering Day.

Please sign in at the information desk so the staff can direct you to meeting room.

Email MTRAS @ [masked] if you have any questions.

See ya'll there!

BIG thanks to EVERYONE who came out for Engineering Day 2013! You guys made it happen. From the new creations coming out of Mike's workshop to Robbie Lynn Hunsinger creative projects using Kinect. Sam did a great job on the BIG bots. Looking forward to seeing what he adds to our growing fleet of Robotic Pied Pipper's. Special thanks to the guys over at the Hacker Consortium for coming out and supporting the cause again this year. I'd say they are regulars now and look forward to seeing them at more events in the future, some coming up in just a couple months. Thank you Jesica Flowers for watching out for us regarding food etc. And one more thanks to Larry Dunlap-Berg for having us out again. Remember, regular meeting next month.

Interested in seeing how a robot is built from start to finish? Iam taking on the challenge of building a robot from start to finish tomorrow. Ill be using a gutted frame from a 80's robot called "Omnibot MKll". Ill start by building the brains, building the motor controller, and then adding in all the extras like flashing LED eyes, audio, etc. The end result will be a fully programmable robot that guests will be able to control via a TV remote. All this in 4 hours with little prep work. Come out to see if I can complete the challenge and check out all the other exhibits! 10am - 3pm @ The Adventure Science Center in Jack Wood Hall.

Anyone getting excited for Engineering Day?! Its going to be bigger and better then last year. Mike has some new BIG projects he plans on bringing out so the Mech is going to sit this one out. The Hacker Consortium guys are joining us to show off some more 3D printers, possibly a DIY CNC router, and will have the laser cutter on site! Hope to see some more new projects from members as well. And remember, even if you don't have anything its a great time too see whats happening with the group and promote the club to guests.
