I wanted to pass on the information for a Mobile Technologies Conference happening this Saturday that you may be interested in attending. Two speakers that I’m particularly interested in hearing are Noah Kegan (original product manager of Facebook Mobile and founder of Mint.com) and Michael Mettler (former product manager of AdMob, a mobile advertising platform bought by Google last Nov for $750 mil). I attached info below. Let me know if you have any questions.
MobileX is a one day conference for entrepreneurs, investors, developers, industry professionals, and mobile enthusiasts that identifies opportunities, explores solutions, and provides technical education in the mobile & related industries in 4 tracks.
SPEAKERS INCLUDE: Noah Kegan (Facebook Mobile, Gambit), Michael Mettler (AdMob, AdCru), Steven Woolley (ooTunes), Sam Soffees (Youversion Bible), Justin Raney (Fanstream, Hallway Feeds), Brendan Lim (Intridea, Inc), Nick Holland (GPSAssasin), Jackson Miller, and more! (Speaker bios)
TRACK 1: iPhone Beginner
For eager developers wanting to get their hands dirty with iPhone development. Please bring your macbook with the iPhone SDK already downloaded or show up during breakfast to get the SDK loaded on your machine. We will have several flash drives with the SDK on them and will help you get set up. Topics covered include: Setup Development Environments, Basic Menu Navigation, Introduction to Table Views, Working with Data Sources, Sound, GPS, External Links, etc.
TRACK 2: Entrepreneur/Investor
This track will cover problems that entrepreneurs face specifically in the mobile market as well as what trends are emerging that would make sense for an investor to invest their money in, and a future entrepreneur to invest their time.
TRACK 3: Technical
For attendees with an interest in the technical details of mobile platforms, and their applications. There will be iPhone specific sessions as well as sessions that explore and compare other platforms.
TRACK 4: Mobile Music
More and more of us discover, listen to, share, critique, and sometimes even record and create music with our phones every day. What do industry players and musicians alike need to be doing to take advantage of this inevitable shift to a world where CD's don't exist...This track will have sessions that explore how to leverage mobile phone technology to maximize exposure and revenue for artists and the record labels that support them.
