I have climbed off and on for about the last 3 or 4 years, though I never got super great at it because I never had the chance to practice enough and push myself past my comfort zone often enough. I haven't climbed much since the summer of 2012, as a foot injury kept me grounded most of last summer and the gym gets expensive going all the time. It will take me some time to build by confidence back up but I'm a great belayer and can belay a lead climber and on top rope.
Not really. I have done it in the past, but it was a couple years ago when I was climbing a lot more often. It would take some time for me to get there again, and I would only be able to do it on a sport climb or a trad climb where the gear is already placed (my last climbing partner used to leave the gear in so I could just clip in for practice on lead).
I don't have a lot of experience with it. I went ice climbing on a glacier once and I liked that, but the couple times I went during the winter on waterfalls I was super uncomfortable. I wouldn't mind trying it a few more times before I rule it out, but it's not really my thing at this point.
I moved to Anchorage in May of 2012, and have been so busy with work and other things that I haven't really made myself get out and meet new people and make friends in AK. I enjoy climbing and would like to make some friends who enjoy it also.
