* Water, Food for a few days (can eat in town for breakfast and dinner)

* shovel and toiletries

* backpack for day hiking, snacks/lunch for day hiking

      We are going to climb on Friday in Flagg. Do u have shoes and harness? Hiking on Friday is an alternative for lack of gear.

    Hey group! So we have 1 driver, JT. Can anyone else drive?

    July 2, 2014

    • JT M.

      With 6 of us we should only need 2 vehicles. 4 in my Edge and 2 in another car. We just need another reliable car...

    • aymacias

      Yea Eliza n I can drive in my car !

    A note on food. I'm bringing non perishables for lunch and snacks (PB&J, cliff bars, trail mix, etc) Planning to eat dinner in town and have oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. We'll need to get an early start on Saturday.

    I'm curious about this one, not a whole lot of experience... wondering if there's specific trails you guys have in mind or where you might be camping?

    July 2, 2014

    • JT M.

      I'm considering the trail down grandview point because it starts higher up in a pine area. The hike down to horse shoe mesa is a possbility but it will be a tough climb out so we'll have to plan accordingly and maybe just go down a little ways and back out.

      Camping will be off dirt roads outside the park. Dry camping. bring water and a shovel.

    On the way back on Sunday we may stop and climb in Flaggstaff if we're not worn out. (warning it's a hike to get to the crags. )

    Hey everyone. I don't have a car that could reliably drive the whole way, but I would love to throw in money to get into the park, etc.

    I don't have a tent, but is it safe to sleep out in the open (thinking of scorpions, etc.)? I have not camped in Arizona yet.

      We will be carpool ing. Depending on # of people we may need multiple vehicles. We are also considering going earlier than Friday. Stay tuned.
