What better way to spend a (sort of) long weekend than climbing at Arapiles? For those of you with the joy of employment, Friday will need to be taken off... but it's well worth it!
So here's the plan.
Climb like crazy during the day, either top roping or awesome multi pitch climbs (depending on the amount of leaders coming along), then at night head into the Natimuk Pub, go for a swim or enjoy a beverage or two or hang out at the Pines among friends. Rinse and repeat for four days straight. Warning, the longer you spend at Araps the less likely you will want to leave. The place is amazing over long weekends!
Departing Melbourne on Wednesday evening and returning Sunday afternoon/evening. If anyone wants to head up earlier/later and head back to Melbourne earlier/later, let me know in the signup comments and I'll try work something out.
We will camp at the Pines campground at the base of Mt. Arapiles. The climbing is spectacular at this time of year and if it gets too hot there a quite a few pleasant swimming holes to paddle in during the suns scorching desert heat.
I will try and organize a Pizza night for either Friday or Saturday as is Tradition. But be prepared to bring up a dinner or two.
Will also try organizing some bouldering pads for some cheeky night bouldering ;)

ANZAC DAY LONG WEEKEND TRIP
Sport Lead Climbing trip at the Grampians
INDOOR LEAD PASS REQUIRED
This is an intermediate trip for those who wish to do some outdoor sports leading. We will arrive in the Grampians on Wednesday night, climb and camp for ANZAC Day Long Weekend.
This trip will be open to new sport climbers but you'll need to have a lead pass from a gym and be comfortable taking and catching lead falls. Sport grades start at around 16.
Trip cost is approximate and assumes you need to borrow club gear.
We will be camping at Plantation Campground, running car shuttles to the climbs every morning. There are drop toilets, and the campsite is about 10 mins drive to halls gap, good chance someone will loop through town after climbs if you need any extra supplies.
You will need to bring all of your own camping and climbing equipment (or borrow it from the gear room) and food, and enough water for 4 days

Equipment list ( if you got rope and draws )
Any wall request OR you know the way to West Flank and tribute wall

Hello Climbers!

Just meet at the yellow sign and introduce yourself :) From there we pair up to climb. If we have an odd number of people, we can make a rotating group of 3. There is also a self-belay area if you want to get in more climbing if in a group of 3 or arriving earlier.

If the event you are planning to go to only has one or 2 people on the ‘attending’ list, we encourage organising a climbing partner in advance so you can make sure you have at least one other person there to climb with! Feel free to reach out on the event wall or message a host :)

Meet up will start at 6pm but if you want to start earlier you certainly can, but again you will need to organise a climbing partner in advance.

New climbers are welcome, however your mandatory induction takes about 15/20mins. Harnesses, shoes and chalk bag can be hired also.

Trip dependent on weather
Been watching videos of climbers doing some Rad Sends* and always wanted to Climb some Real Rock outdoors? This is the trip to get you hooked onto Rock Climbing!
Whether you're an experienced climber or a Complete Beginner, come join us on a super fun Day of sendage at Falcon's Lookout.
We will be setting up some top ropes and there's also some good sport climbing at the Crag for those with a gym lead pass.
We'll start the day off early with a meet-up for coffee at a cozy café in Bacchus Marsh before carpooling to the Ironbark Gorge Track carpark. From here, it's a fun little hike (about 30mins) to Falcon's Lookout.
The crag has routes suitable for all levels of experience, so you'll have plenty of options to choose from. We'll climb until around 5:00pm or until we're too tired to continue.
What better way to end a hard day of Climbing than stopping at a Pub after for dinner. (Optional depending on what people are feeling)

• Climbing Helmet (no bike or other helmets)
• Harness
• Climbing Shoes
