Had a great time, met another great bunch of climbers -- only complaint: the 5.7 was running with water, well I guess we get "wet-hazard" points for doing it anyway. Great lead on the 5.9, Jim and K-Leigh! My thanks to Donald for arranging another superb day with a variety of difficulties available in one circumscribed area. This time, I did not fall for Roo's trick -- usually has a tale to tell about how underfed he is, hah! I even stole a few of his jerky treats, far better than my peanut butter sandwich. Did not get to see Jason's lead, hope someone got a few pictures.

Looks like we have five ropes going, and that will be plenty.

In terms of skill, I'm pretty out of practice, and I was never great to begin with. I've only climbed about 10 times in my life, and the last time I climbed was about 2 years ago. I've never been lead climber, but I've belayed lead and top rope every time I've been out climbing.

In terms of equipment, I have a harness and shoes.

Great! We will need a few good belayers. See you tomorrow.

If you plan to climb you will need a harness, shoes, and helmet.

I'll bring a lead rope for sure, and I have a 6 year old top rope as well. Been doing a bunch of trad 5.7s lately, might be up to Puppy Chow on sport-lead.

I have a rope and around 16 draws and can lead up to 5.9 if there are lead belayers.

LEADERS: How many leaders do we have? What difficulty can you lead? I ask because some routes at this crag can NOT be top topped without having to lead the route because they are located on a spire.

ROPES: 15 people going (13 + two more climbers from Colorado) to this crag is going to mean we will be needing a lot of ropes. 10 ropes will keep most people climbing with some short breaks in between. I will be bringing two, so if you have one bring it; even if it is in "top rope only" condition.

Went a 70% chance to 100% chance of rain, so I'm just going to move the date to next Saturday. John Zona has a hike and climb going on on Sunday, so it looks like I might just join that depending on how I feel.

Looks like rain, but not going to last long on Sat. Sunday is clear and blue?
