Nehru Trophy Boat Race with Fort Cochin and Mararikulam Beach - August 9th to 11th' 2013
A one of a kind experiential journey covering the famed Nehru Trophy Boat Race in the pristine Alleppey Backwaters, a backwater tour through the canals and lakes of the backwaters, visit to some unexplored beaches and a walking tour covering the old world charm of Fort Cochin.

Day 0 : August 8th: Bangalore Departure
Leave from Bangalore at 8.30 p.m. in A/C Volvo Sleeper .
Day 1 : August 9th : Alleppey - Fort Cochin - Mararikulam Beach
Arrive at Ernakulam and transfer to Alleppey Homestay. Post breakfast we visit Alleppey Beach and the lesser known but beautiful Mararikulam Beach. Evening we explore Alleppy town. Overnight at Alleppey Home Stay.
Day 2 : August 10th : Alleppey Backwaters & Nehru Trophy Boat Race
After breakfast we explore the unique beauty of the Kerala Backwaters. Explore the larger lakes and the smaller channels of the Backwaters and see the life along the backwater villages. We stop at one of the backwater eateries to sample some fresh and authentic sea food. By noon we go to see the Boat Race. On the day of this fiercely fought boat race, the tranquil lake front is transformed into a sea of humanity cheering there respective village teams. For the people of each village in Kuttanad, a victory at this race for their village boat is something to be celebrated for months to come. Evening back to homestay.
Day 3 : August 11th - Fort Cochin
After breakfast we leave for Fort Cochin. Our walking tour of Fort Cochin takes you around the Chinese Fishing nets, the Mattanchery Market, Jew Street, Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace and European style residences which still retains its old world charm. Evening at around 6.00 p.m. we leave for Bangalore by A/C Volvo Sleeper.
Day 4 : August 12th
Arrive in Bangalore by 5 a.m.
