Kodaikanal is a hill town in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. Its name in the Tamil language means "The Gift of the Forest".Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill stations" and has a long history as a retreat and popular tourist destination. The town of Kodaikanal sits on a plateau above the southern escarpment of the upper Palani Hills at 6,998 ft, between the Parappar and Gundar Valleys. These hills form the eastward spur of the Western Ghats on the Western side of South India. It has an irregular basin as its heartland, the centre of which is now Kodaikanal Lake a 5 kilometers circumference manmade lake.
Stay : Organic Farm Cottage Stay
Our stay is in a beautiful organic farm located at a height of 1700 meters above sea level 15 meters from Kodaikanal which grows fruits, vegetables, grains and honey. With rustic but comfortable cottage style accommodation nestled beautifully on the slopes that open out towards the hills of the Western Ghats and the plains beyond.This place is an absolute treat with fantastic views from all around. The farm has forests and peaks on either side, with paths for a short forest stroll or an all day trek, with spectacular views, tropical forest and wildlife.

Our trip for this weekend is adventure cum sights trip to Kodaikanal. Our adventure starts with a 3 kms uphill jeep journey which takes us to our farm stay located in the hills with 360 degree views of the mountains and jungles and a waterfall right inside the farm. After we check in, take some rest, relax, walk around in the plantations, visit the waterfalls inside the farm or just sit and admire the beauty of the mountains and jungles from the dining area. Post lunch we go for a half day ( 4-5 hrs) trek and later a waterfall visit. Those who do not wish to trek can take shorter walks or chill out at the farm.
On the second day we do a sightseeing trip of Kodaikanal visiting Kodai Lake, Cockers walk, Upper lake view, Pine forest, Piller rock and Bear sola falls. Leave from Kodaikanal at around 5 p.m.on Sunday and stop at Dindugal for dinner. Arrive in Bangalore by 5 a.m.on Monday.
Day 0 : July 26th : Start from Bangalore at 8 p.m.
Day 1 : July 27th : Arrive at Kodaikanal and check into the farm stay. Enjoy the location and the fantastic views, visit waterfalls and relax. Post lunch around 1.30 p.m. we go for a 4-5 hours trek passing through thick jungles and hills with chances of wildlife spotting. Over night at farm stay.
Day 2 : July 28th : After breakfast we leave for Kodaikanal and explore the sight of Kodaikanal. Leave from Kodaikanal at around 5 p.m.on Sunday and stop at Dindugal for dinner.
Day 3 : July 29th : Back to Bangalore by 5 a.m.
