This Meetup will meet at the normal time (ok... 30 min early) but it is for Jen's 30th birthday climbing!!!
If you are new and/or don't have a membership/pass, please indicate that in the RSVP or discussion board. If we get at least nine people then the day pass rate will be $15. Gear is extra and pro-rated.
If you are new to climbing, you only need to rent a harness and shoes.
Members - if you have guest passes to spare, please indicate in your RSVP.
Just to be even more funky, wear something wild. Fluorescent colors, sparkles, gawdy glasses, party hats, you name it! Pictures will be taken (optional).
Here are the usual details:
Welcome to the Sunday ET Meetup! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, this is a great way to meet other climbing enthusiasts. If you've never climbed before, we can help you get started and show you the basics. If you have climbed before and need someone to belay, we can do that, too. If you're an expert climber, you're probably better than the rest of us, but we won't hold that against you.
Not a gym member and/or need to rent gear? Visit here for the latest prices on gym day, series or season pass and rentals.
Looking to lead climb? We vary on attendance for those who can lead climb. We recommend posting on the discussion board to see if another person is available to lead climb with you.
New to climbing? It is recommended that beginner climbers get belayed certified prior to joining the group. Purchase the Introductory Package and get a second one free for a friend! Typically we'll try to set you up in a group of three with other climbers who can help show you belaying and knot tying. If you don't know how to belay, please make sure there are at least 5 people who do know how to belay, including an organizer/host, attending the Meetup.
New to the group? Please check the RSVP list to see if a host/organizer is attending. If you have trouble finding people in the group have Earth Treks page for a Meetup member. We recommend that newcomers post on the event discussion board with details of your wardrobe and to indicate you're new to our group! If you can't find us, have the front desk page Meetup.
