Announcing a new meeting for The VA/MD/DC Rock Climber's Meetup Group!

What: Hiking, Climbing (Top Roping) and Camping at Annapolis Rocks

When: Saturday, June 21, 12:00 PM

Meeting fee: USD15.00 per person

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Who should come: Anyone from beginners to more advanced climbers

Why: This trip will be all around fun.

Meeting Description: **If event is full and you would like to join, please email Jim and arrangements are possible.

We will be climbing Annapolis Rock near Fredrick MD. Plan to arive at the parking lot by noon. It is about an hour drive from the city

There is a 2.5 mile hike to get to the climbs.

This will be an all day climb. Basic Schedule is as follows:

12 - 2 pm -Hike in to climbing area and select climbing location
2 - 3:30 pm -Setup anchor systems. They are more difficult to set up here, takes more time.
3:30 - 6pm -Climbing
6pm - 8pm - Set up tents. Get any more supplies from cars
8pm - - eat, drink, and be merry around a campfire

Sunday - Climbing until mid afternoon, then heading back to city

**We are going to try to camp out saturday night until sunday morning and then doing more climbing sunday. Let me know if you own a tent or any supplies. Please post this info on your RSVP. We will have campfire, cook some food and have a few drinks. Remember that everything we want to bring camping has to go on the 2 mile hike so pack light! Also we will divide up stuff to carry so make sure you have a larger, quality pack. We will determine who brings what, because we can't have ten tents for ten people, so I will figure this out before event. Since this is a camping event, people who don't want to camp will only be able to join if there is room left over.

Helmet strongly recomended!

Here is a link for helpfull directions. We will meet in parking lot. Call my cell if needed. I will send email with cell to everyone attending.
