Climb stuff at VW Seattle

A couple of us need to take shoes in to be repaired, and apparently you just drop them off at VW Seattle. So, rather than just pop in and leave, we're going to stay and climb for the afternoon.

If interested in climbing, introducing yourself, saying 'hi' or just hanging out then feel free to come join us.

Shoe Repair
Whether the summer season chewed up your shoes or that first hole has just appeared, they go out to John Ramuta in Montana. It takes about four weeks to get the shoes back and costs $33 or $44 depending on if you need a patch or rand repair.

Fabulous time. So good to meet friendly new people, as well as spend time with those who are fast becoming old buds. Thanks for organizing, Bruce!

Im not very skilled at climbing but would like to learn to belay. Can someone help with that? I've briefly been shown how a few times climbing in Leavenworth....just need to brush up. I've always wanted to go into VW, i currently climb at the Bouldering Project.

On those occasions I've seen people try whether at VW or SG, the staff step in and tell them to knock it off. However, I saw that they offer a womens intro to climbing class at Stone Gardens Bellevue.

It’s $20 including rentals and lessons (normally $55) on the third Friday of every month (next one is Feb 15th).

They don't teach belay in that class. I suppose i will just have to settle with paying the $50 and take the 101 class at VW. Thanks though!

It will be my first day back since I sprained my ankle so I may end up belaying more than climbing. Looking forward to it though! :)
