Midweek madness

  • Jul 30, 2013 · 4:30 PM
  • Exit 38

Let's do some midweek substation/deception. If you're interested rsvp with the time you think you could get there, so we can have a good idea of who is going to be there and when. I listed 4:30 just to clarify that it was afternoon. Show when you are comfortable with it. I'll likely stay until we run out of sun!

Bring shoes, harness, belay device, helmet, draws, chalk, etc.

If you have a rope bring it up. Sometimes (like at Mt Erie) we've run short on ropes, and if you have a rope bring an anchor if you can. More ropes generally means more climbs for everyone.

You might want some bug spray.

I've been busy every weekend this summer, so this was a great chance to get out and do some climbing. Thanks Bruce!

Doddle: Brit informal slang - something easily accomplished.
Dawdle Verb 1.Waste time; be slow. 2.Move slowly and idly.
So in climbing terms one cancels the other out. Should one dawdle, the route is no longer the doddle it could have been. See that overhanging thing at Substation, or the crux at the top of that 10a

An excellent evening. Led a few, top roped a few, and finally beat some routes that spooked me last year. Highly successful and most enjoyable.

Hey Bruce, where are you driving from? Shall we carpool out to exit 38?

I have people out of the office on holiday that I'm covering for. Odds are pretty good for a 4pm arrival time, I just don't want to mess up anyone's evening by a last minute unexpected 'we need you to stay and do this before you go' scenario

I'll probably arrive a little before 4:00, and will bring a rope.

I can be there ~4:30, or not at all, depending on whether I manage to escape downtown before traffic gets totally nuts.
