Strength Training for climbing
Whatever level you climb, strength training is important. First, it?s important to balance the body to prevent injury and sustain performance over time. Next, strength training is essential to improving your base or taking your climbing to the next level. Basic fitness, fingers, forearm, and climbing essential muscles are all part of this 6 week Strength Training segment.
Strength Training for climbing is part of a periodization series, but is uniquely being offered in this 6 week block. The exercises are easy to modify for all ability and fitness levels, but it helps if participants have some climbing experience. By the end of the 6 weeks, you will notice strength improvements and have the tools to create a strength training program for yourself going forward.
Class size is limited. Register and pay early to secure a spot. Call Vertical World ([masked] )or sign up at the front desk.
Class meets once a week, every Tuesday from 6:30am to 8:30am.
Audrey Sniezek has been climbing since 1992. As a recent competition climber, training for climbing is one of her main obsessions. She has knowledge of existing materials and practices as well as has training input from a variety of sources including Vertical World?s junior team coach, Tyson Schoene; Former Canadian junior team trainer, Mike Doyle; and professional athlete and former competition climber Timy Fairfield. Audrey has been teaching the Seattle Vertical World Morning Team for a year and a half and uses a combination of her experience and knowledge to create programs that work for adults. Her climbing resume can be found on www.AudreySniezek.com.

What: 3rd anniversary gathering!
When: September 10, 2009 6:30 PM
2123 W Elmore St
Seattle, WA 98199
This Meet-up group was founded just over 3 years ago by Lourdez, myself and a bunch of other freaks. Let's celebrate our heritage by climbing at Vertical World for a bit followed by a drink or two at a local watering hole (to be determined - depending on how many people sign up). We should do a big climbing/camping weekend too, but for now....
Show up anytime after 6:30 and look around for me or others. We'll head out for drinks around 9pm. If you're interested in becoming an organizer or have any questions, this would be a good time....
