I’d like to organize a historical vampire game set in Austin just after the civil war. Freed men, expatriated gentlemen, union or confederate officers, soldiers, the family of those who the war took too soon, men in women who went west to escape civilization only to have civilization chase them down, and honest people who just want to make a living are examples of appropriate characters. The game is going to involve vampires. The game is based on White Wolf’s Storyteller System (From New World of Darkness and Vampire: the Requiem). This will be an open-ended sandbox; players should decide their characters motivations, and move toward that goal. If you want to play a character that lies and kills to get ahead, you can do it. If you want to play a vampire, a vampire hunter, or a mortal, that’s entirely up to the choices you and your character makes.
I’m intending to run this game on Sundays, at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, every other week. The first session will be a meet-up at a coffee shop where we all see if we get along. We’ll make characters, talk about what our goals for the characters are, how we feel about snacks or beer at the game, what type of roleplaying we enjoy doing, and the general tone of the game. Newbies are more than welcome, as well!
