I've been a member of the Austin RPG group for just over a year, and I was very happy to be able to save the group from oblivion a few days ago by stepping up as organizer.
I'm looking forward to at least one more year of games with you all, and just wanted to announce a few new features which should make meeting up and playing easier.
Any member can now suggest a meetup which will be announced to the group (before, three RSVPs were required for an event to be announced). This change is in the hope that new games can get the traction they need quickly to get people together in a timely fashion. So if you're a game master, name the time and place!
If you're unsure of what to include in an event description, check out this post:
Also, I would like to host and promote more social events. I've had a lot of success with this meetup in getting groups just by suggesting a meet and greet, then planning games from there. Now anyone can do that with a few clicks, and instantly have their social event announced to the group.
For example, I scheduled just such an event for the Sunday after next here:
And in addition to our regularly occurring pathfinder game we have a Dungeon Crawl Classics game coming up:
and of course we have ChupacabraCon coming up in January.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the group or life in general, please let me know.
