Beyond Urgent: Wacoans to Austin on Tuesday July 2 for Friends ready to participate in the legislative battle in Austin,
Wow, Texas and Austin are the center of pro-life/pro-abortion conflict next week. Wherever you are, you must support the pro-life legislative effort with your personal participation and with prayer.
This is one of the most important e-mails I've ever sent. I will try to be brief. I'm sure you know about the temporary defeat pro-lifers suffered last week in Austin.
Abortion enthusiasts were able to block pro-life legislation with mob tactics at the capitol in Austin. However, the abortion issue will be blazing on the front burner this coming week.
I invite all of you near Waco to be at the capital during legislative hearings, which are scheduled to begin at 2 P.M. on Tuesday July 2. As is our tradition, everyone is invited to participate in carpooling/van pooling from the St. Mary's parking lot at Columbus Avenue between 14th and 15th streets. We will depart for Austin at 11 AM. If you can drive please be there and invite others to ride with you. If you do not wish to drive, please be there. We will arrange carpooling at the time. If you wish to go to Austin with other driving arrangements, that is fine. Maybe your church could take a van down to Austin. If you are early enough, public parking may be available at San Jacinto and 12th
Pro-lifers are asked to wear blue shirts so that we can distinguish ourselves from the pro-abortion throng that will be wearing orange. I will send out more information and you can follow this on Twitter, #stand4life.
Possibly you have never jumped in with two feet in a pro-life outreach. July 2 can be your initiation for a day you will never forget.
There will also be important demonstrations and rallies on other days including Monday. Find out about Monday at www.texasallianceforlife.org
Click on “Official Schedule of Events for #Stand4Life Monday”.
Pro-Life Waco will NOT organize anything specific for Monday. However, you are encouraged to go to Austin to participate. Possibly you can find a way to camp out for a week in Austin. Maybe you have friends you can impose on. The stakes are high! We must think and act outside the box.
Here are the legislative provisions our pro-life legislators will try to pass: (1) a ban on virtually all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, (2) a requirement that abortion facilities strictly follow FDA rules on chemical abortions, (3) require abortion facilities to meet the same regulations as other out-of-hospital surgical centers, and (4) require that abortionists have admitting credentials at a hospital within 30 miles of an abortuary.
We seek important and reasonable legislation. The other side knows it and they are panicked. They would like for legislators to see that we are vastly outnumbered. We cannot let this happen when we are in the majority.
If you intend to be at St. Mary's parking lot for the 11 A.M. departure, please respond and let me know so we can do a little preplanning. So many of our big victories have been won when we have had to act on very short notice. This notice is short, however, your pro-life commitment is deep and strong.
Please forward this message electronically, verbally, and/or with pen and pencil.
