I just got back from the John McCain rally here in Chicago at the Odeum Expo Center. My brother and I are both huge supporters of Ron Paul. We came to show our support for Paul and for people to see us there, and to see that there was another option. Unfortunately, our cause was ruined. Just after John McCain started giving his speech, a family of Paul supporters started yelling and chanting, interrupting the speech.

John McCain was handled it tactfully. He said, "Oh come on now. I've had lots of Ron Paul supporters at my other rallies, and they've always been really polite." For about 30 seconds, they shut up, then started their raucous yelling again. They were escorted out by security. My brother and I left rather quickly after that, embarrassed. A security guard in the hall wanted to know if my brother and I were going to be causing trouble, too. We advised him that wasn't our style, and we felt the other Paul supporters had been very rude. In fact, my brother had followed them outside to let them know to their face, that they were an embarrassment to Paul's campaign.

Yelling along with the couple was their three year old daughter. After we left, we saw the family in the parking lot. I let them know too, that I felt their actions were in poor taste. The little girl asked me, "Why don't you like Ron Paul?" to which I replied, "I do, of course, very much." The father tells the little girl, "He likes Ron Paul, but he's just afraid to say it out loud."

Its no wonder we can't get taken seriously by the media when these kinds of shenanigans get pulled. I don't have a problem with doing chants in public or having a rally outside, but to disrupt a speech, and alienate Paul's message to a whole roomful of what might have been undecided voters is just absurd.

I can only be thankful they didn't start screaming, "9-11 Truth Now!", as well.

Yo Jason,

Obviously you are either to young or have forgotten how the Democratic Presidential Convention Riots in Chicago helped end the Vietnam War.

It will be too late to speak up when the McCain's of the world draft your kids.

Remember where you heard it first when it happens to you ;)

Jason... I hope some day you grow some balls and learn how to speak up for what you believe in rather than criticize those who believe in the the same thing as you.

Whose side are you on? Who made you the authority on attending filthy NEOCON rallies? Is it really your position polite attendance changes minds and gets votes? Heads up Sparky they HATE us Ron Paul folks no matter what! Our forefathers threw monkey wrenches in the works as well! This nation was not made great on proper dress up and proper etiquette. Rudy was plagued by Paul folks ALL over the US and weather you will acknowledge it or not it had an effect on Mr. Mayor.

Just a news flash for you, LONG before this event that has caused you to get on your misplaced morality soap box, the Ron Paul campaign has been completely shut out from EFFECTIVE MEDIA. It has nothing to do with fringe supporters and everything to do with threatening the machine. The fact is, this event is late in the SLAUGHTER and has no bearing on the race whatsoever. If you think standing in a tuxedo eating finger food with NEOCONS is going to change them you are wrong. Go get your chip now. If that is your idea of civil disobedience ? no wonder we are getting beat like a drum on parade day. WE ARE IN THE FIGHT OF OUR LIFE!

The campaign has run a polite, inexperienced race. Other campaigns (with less money and enthusiastic boots on the ground) do not live and die by a couple of rally supporters. Other campaigns have really smart seasoned, ruthless people who get ahead in polls and get candidates elected. This Mr. Nice guy approach has resulted in a string of losing results. First amendment rights still apply here in this one nation under surveillance. Why can a MCCain SS officer manhandle a woman and child? Because the people - like you will not stand up! If you or I shoved or twisted arms on a cop or kid it would result in a series of trumped up charges. There is a trend towards a police state - tasering citizens, etc. I see you siding with not the police but MCCAIN thugs! .Did this outburst ruin your climax as you listened to MCCain talk about fixing the economy and close the border? I think its disgusting the only wrong people like you see are a few supporters yelled at a FILTHY ON THE TAKE NEOCON. Where are the rights of those you are so quick to talk down to? This Paul supporter is a hero in my book. More Paul people need to get ANGRY. MCCAIN and his goons are stealing your country.

Less sensitive people you follow around to correct might not take your critism in the good spirit intended. While a part of me wants to encourage you to continue this practice, please reconsider and join the true patriots.

Dude, were you one of the "Ron Paul Supporters" heckling the people that were accosted? Were you also the ONLY Ron Paul supporter still carrying a McCain sign out the building to your car!?!?!?

You think what these people did was wrong and makes us look bad!?!?? It was a public forum, and they spoke up. They were asked to leave which they began to do just as McCain's bodyguards came and tackled the man and woman knocking down the woman's 3YR OLD DAUGHTER in the process!!! And the Ron Paul supporters were wrong?

OH, and let's not also forget that when these patriots went to the Villa Park Police Headquarters to file charges, they were informed by an officer there that McCain's campaign had called ahead and instructed them on what to do!!! Police taking orders from a presidential campaign! And you can believe that the orders were to dismiss the people as trying to instigate violence and any other type of BS that would allow them to NOT file the charges!

The papers were filled out and signed by the victim and an officer. If they choose to throw the case away it will be at their own risk.

This story will be coming out shortly, and for you or anyone to say that these people were in the wrong is ridiculous. What would have happened if some people started shouting "Vote for Romney, he's cool!!!"??? I highly doubt that the reactions would have been the same, although you probably would have went out and told them how wrong they were for Mitt and his Revolution, eh?

Go somewhere else and spread disinfo, pal, this aint the place. The day that peaceful protest at a public forum becomes worthy of assault and police complicity then you have every right to talk your trash, until then ask yourself why you're here as part of this group.

A little civil disobedience never hurt anyone--that is, until they were assaulted by John "Kuato" McCain's thugs.

Don't McCain me, bro!

I only wish I could have been there to join in the chants of, "RON PAUL! RON PAUL!" right in McCain's face! You have a voice. Use it or lose it ~ and by any means necessary. How sweet it is. :)
