It takes less time than most Ron Paul events. No travel necessary! If a lot of people write letters, if even a few get published, thousands will read them and it will certainly have an effect for the small amount of time spent.

Time Commitment Needed: About 1 hour or less

Send the letters by Wednesday/Thursday. Many papers also allow you to email the letters.

A List of Newspapers:

USA Today
NY Post
NY Daily News
Newsday (Long Island)
Wall Street Journal
NY Times
NJ Star Ledger
The Record (Bergen County)

Information on each paper's requirements:

Points to Emphasize: I feel that when everyone is concerned about recession (such as right now), it is a good time to bring up Ron Paul's message about limited government, living within our means, monetary policy, and keeping an out of control government out of our lives. Another good topic is the state of the union address, as some papers (like the Wall Street Journal and the NY Times) require you to reference a recent article/editorial.

I will post some sample letters tomorrow (Tuesday 1/29/2008)
