I'm heading out to the Sunflower Farm in Rutledge, GA on Saturday the 23rd.
Photographers are charged $10 for entrance and you can shoot as long as you like.
In addition to the rows of sunflowers, the farm has vintage tractors, flower garden, shed and hummingbirds galore!
You can read more about the farm on its website, SunflowerFarmFestival.com.
This is quite a drive from Roswell, so any carpooling among members would certainly help. Most people could probably stay 2-3hours and arriving earlier is better to beat the heat and sun. Parking is along the fence or road.
Here are some things to bring based on my previous two trips: sunblock, hat, towel, change of shoes (the field can be muddy), and water/snacks.
The official 'festival' dates are 6/30 and 7/1, but I have found it better to attend the weekend before to beat the crowds and to minimize the cut sunflowers.
