A note from Erin:
My dad is a photographer so I have spent my entire life around photography. I spent most Saturdays at his studio that my parents ran, playing dress up with the glamour clothes and setting up my own "scenes" with all of his props. It wasn't until my last year of college that I became interested in learning more about photography and starting my own business. I spent about a year and a half photographing anything I could, but the editing process always felt boring to me unless it was pictures of my friends with their horses. Last year I decided to focus solely on equine portraits focusing on the relationship between horse and owner. I have loved horses ever since I can remember and have ridden competitively since I was in middle school. I also always knew that I would never be happy working at a normal desk job. Combining my love of photography and horses just seemed natural. It's a niche that I am hoping will continue to grow and one that I enjoy every aspect of.
