Hi Metrowest Rubyists,

I'm excited to announce that I'm officially rebooting this group with a new name, revamped vision, new sponsor, and a great new location!

I'm calling it the Route 9 Ruby Group, with the goal of connecting Rubyists from Eastern to Western Massachusetts by providing an open community for networking, learning, and discussing all things Ruby. I'm welcoming Rubyists from all over Massachusetts, and yes, you can be a member of both Boston.rb and Route 9 Ruby Group.

A few important things:

1) First, go join our new discussion group! We'll use this for online discussion and job postings:
2) I created a dedicated home page for the new group here: Currently, it's just a stand-in while I develop a new site (coming soon)
3) Meetup management/RSVPs will continue to go through

If you were a member of the "Metrowest Ruby Group" on, you are now already a member of Route 9 Ruby Group on the site, as I have simply renamed the old group.

My employer,, has graciously offered to host our meetups at our awesome new offices in Framingham and will provide us with food & drinks (beer) for all upcoming meetups (woo-hoo!). We are conveniently located right off I-90 in Framingham. Literally, we're 2 minutes off of Exit 13, and very close to Route 9.

Our first meetup will be Wednesday, May 16th, from 5:30pm - 8:30pm. I'll send out the invite a few days from now. Future meetups will be held on the third Wednesday of every month.

I'm looking forward to growing the Route 9 Ruby Group and to meeting you all at our first gathering in a few weeks.
