Santa Barbara Vino Train

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE RSVP COUNT FOR THIS MEETUP. There may be a lot less seats left than indicated, so do call soon to purchase tickets and avoid disappointment. (We'll leave the ability to RSVP open until the event is filled so that nobody will get confused and think it is already closed). Please just call[masked] to RSVP. Many members from this Meetup Group have taken the Vino Train trip to Santa Barbara and the reviews have been great! I've personally taken the trip four times bringing friends and family along and enjoyed every trip! If you'd like to see photos and travelogues from past trips on the Santa Barbara Vino Train, please visit: VinoTrain.com The Overland Trail private railcar is running the Santa Barbara Vino Train from Los Angeles to the Downtown Santa Barbara Wine Trail on select Saturdays almost every month! Some of the prior trips have completely sold out just from members of the Orange County Wine Meetup Group and the Southern California Rail Travel Meetup Group before tickets were even made available to the public! If you didn't get a chance to go on a prior trip, or would like to go again, here is another chance! There will be an escorted tour by Tom Anderson of as many of these wine tasting rooms as time allows with a break for lunch at one of the many Santa Barbara eateries. At no extra cost you are welcome to tag along on the escorted tour, or you may go off to explore at your own pace. Each wine tasting room charges between $5 and $15 for between 3 and 7 pours at each room. You are not required to participate in the tastings at every stop (or any stop). Round-trip in the private railcar including breakfast and dinner plus wine, soft drinks or coffee is just $145. You can park directly under the MTA building at L.A. Union Station all day for just $6. Amtrak staff may not be aware of this special event but they will be able to point you to the right track if you ask for Train #1761. The Overland Trail private railcar is painted in a two tone grey finsh and will be a single level design. An attendant will be outside to check in passengers. The train departs Los Angeles at 7:45AM arriving in Santa Barbara at 10:19AM. The return train (train # 1790) departs at 4:32PM arriving back at 7:15PM. Buy your ticket soon to avoid disappointment! Below are the details of this trip: The Santa Barbara Vino Train is just the ticket for those wishing a day of escape. Enjoy an easy going get-a-way with first class service and personal attention. The special day will be filled with wonderful adventure, great food and lots of premium wine tasting! Our wine tour will be fun, educational and will tantalize your taste buds. Do you love wine? Do you love adventure? Do you love the mystique and romance long associated with exotic train travel? Then ... please peruse these features...... First Class seating aboard private club car, Overland Trail. All meals and beverages on board included in your fare. While enroute, you'll enjoy a delicious and freshly prepared buffet style breakfast with Belgium waffle, southwest Fritata, sliced chicken sausages and more. Our waiter/porters, who have your comfort and enjoyment in mind, will beckon to your call. Relax and leave the cares of the world behind. The moment you step aboard the Overland Trail you become aware of the subdued elegance and refined Streamline Moderne appointments of an earlier, more gracious era. Our special conveyance: The Overland Trail is a 1940s built, former Southern Pacific club lounge that was built as a mid train 1st class lounge for the San Francisco Overland. The car features a stunning Streamline Modern interior, a most gracious quarter-circle bar, a comfortable ride, and expansive picture windows. You'll arrive in Santa Barbara in style aboard this gem from the past! Our Routing: The Wine Lover's Train transverses the spectacular "coast line" of the former Southern Pacific Railroad (now Union Pacific). This was the route of the famed Coast Daylight, described by many as, "the most beautiful train in the world". The train was inaugurated on March 21, 1937 and ran up until the advent of Amtrak in 1971. Our special car will be coupled to the regularly scheduled Amtrak train #1761, northbound and train #1790 southbound. We'll enjoy many scenic highlights through the large picture windows of the Overland Trail including the; Santa Susana pass, many seaside miles along the mighty Pacific Ocean, and, of course, our final destination, the "American Riviera" - aka, Santa Barbara. I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
