Rock Star Developer - Cofounder Wanted for Social News Startup

Do you feel that the news you read could be more relevant? Feel like there's lots of good content out there but need a way to find just the most important news?

With the explosion of blogs and such there is more great content online than ever before, but also more noise.  We are building an internet service that raises the signal to noise ratio an order of magnitude for a category of news that currently supports over a billion dollar ad market.  Our service is in the spirit of successful services like LinkedIn and Friendfeed, targeting a segment that has received little attention so far in the online world.

We are a team of two experienced developers with over a dozen successful products in our portfolio.  We're a month or so from an alpha release and looking to bring a third developer into the team as a cofounder.  You are:

  • Passionate about good software design
  • Highly motivated to create great products that millions will use
  • Can point to at least two currently deployed web sites where you were a major contributor.
  • At least 1 year experience in Ruby.
  • Well versed in getting the most out of Linux, MySQL, Ajax, CSS, HTML.
  • Committed to TDD/BDD.

We are working to release a beta service early next year and then pursue funding.  If you're looking for secure job that pays this month's rent this isn't for you.  If you're looking for the excitement of a very early stage opportunity where you have a big equity stake and hand in designing the product then lets talk.  Part time contributors will be considered for the right person.
