Beginning Erlang for the Ruby Developer

Expected attendees from the other list is approximately 50 - I have to set this RSVP to 25. - As a developer we should strive to learn how others think, learn simple tools and embrace proven ideas to shape your own. Ruby is object-oriented and functional. We'll explore how learning functional concepts may help you build simpler Ruby code. Learn the basics of Erlang, what it offers, how we can relate it to Ruby. Furthermore, we'll look at a couple cool Erlang projects that may be worth trying and contributing to. Karmen Blake is a software developer for, focused on creating apps to better help companies integrate branded interactive campaigns with viral features of the social web. Karmen has over 10 years of experience in software development (Ruby since 2006) and 7 years of teaching web and software development at the college level.
