Rumi was many things in his life and one of the most important was master presenter of heart-space. It appears as though from the time he met his teacher, Shams of Tabriz, he began to exist almost continuously within that heart-space and his nearly every utterance was poetic presentation of that inner landscape revealing the possibilities of experience that this human existence offers. While he was one of the best educated people of his time, he obviously had a knowledge you don't get in college and he provokes our curiosity or longing for it. His poetry challenges us to ask ourselves "am I fully taking advantage of this precious gift of life?"
We gather about once each month bringing our hearts, hoping to get a taste of that beautiful sacred space he so clearly, powerfully, and poetically represented. We read and discuss the poetry of Rumi and other mystics. I hope you are able to attend our next meeting.
