"This is a run without any rules, really. Start whenever you want - though most of us gather at 7am at Skyline Gate to sing happy birthday to Tropical John Medinger (He's 61 - but we're only running 60k this year.) Run as far as you want. Everyone is responsible for keeping track of their own time and distance on the clipboard at Skyline Gate."

7am too early? Start anytime you like! 50k too long? Run any section of the route! There is one aid station with snacks at Bort Meadow, and snack bar at Chabot Marina.

** Carpool highly recommended since parking is limited!

Great run. Thanks for running with me, Anna and Goncalo. This run became the longest distance I ever did on trail. (Got lost at the last 3 miles and ended up adding extra mile including a big hill.) Great job to everyone.

Yes, i got the email too. No more strange running and crossing of redwood road, we run golden spike to cross and get to mc donalds trail, like for the golden hill marathon.

Ha, I was just going to post this and see y'all beat me to it. Excellent! Was great fun on the last one. I would not otherwise be motivated to start at 7 am, which is 1/2 hr before sunrise this time of year - but seeing the sky change with the sunrise was great. I'm planning on ~30K, sans Jackson Grade, and turning around at or maybe looping around at ~Bass Cove.

Oh yeah, so it occurred to me that this is like the Dick Collins FT50 route (GH without French, and Stream instead)?

    • Drew

ya, pretty much. For whatever reason technically skip the Golden Spike segment and shortcut on Redwood Rd. But folks do whatever...

Despite the signup, not an 'organized event' rather this is a fat *ss (no fees, no/not much aid, no whining)
    Check out the release:

Should I die during the event, I hereby bequeath all my worldly possessions (excluding children and ex-wives) to the Birthday Boy. I attest that I have sufficiently trained for this grueling event and that I am truly studly and in awesome shape. So there.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
