Announcing a new Meetup for The Denver Running Meetup Group!

What: Let's do it again!!!! Friday after-work run up Lookout Mountain

When: Friday, April 30,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Lookout Mountain Pillars
19th st and lookout mountain
golden, CO 80401

Let's do it again! Hopefully with better weather this week!

Do you need more diversity in your running schedule? Been doing the same runs every week?

If you LOVE to run hills, then you should run this with me because it is one giant hill. If you HATE to run hills, then you should run this with me because you won't stop hating hills until you get better by running them.

Either way... lets go run up Lookout Mountain. We'll need to start fairly promptly because we are still fighting some daylight. There's always cyclists on this road, so cars tend to be more aware than normal that there are other users of the road that are not using gasoline to get up the mountain.

As for some stats: It's an out and back, so you could turn around at any point depending on what distance you want to do. It's 4.5miles to the top, gaining ~1300ft, averaging ~5.5% grade. Obviously, going up will take longer than coming back down. Mile markers for climbing this have actually been painted on the road (I'm assuming by cyclists since they on the right side of the road). So if you wanted to do 1 or 2 miles up and turn around, you can do just that without needing a fancy GPS watch.

You can see the route here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/co/golden/232234510

After we can stop by one of the 3 bars in downtown Golden if people are interested in grabbing a drink and/or food.

Since people asked previously and I didn't have an answer since I had never done it: If you go to the top expect it to take around an hour and a half round trip, plus or minus 10-15minutes depending on your pace.
