Capt'n Karl's Run and Endurance Race is a series of three race events (the LAKE, the FALLS, and the SHOE) held every summer in the hot and beautiful Texas Hill Country. Each event has multiple race distances (all trail) held in the evening and during the night. All events start Saturday night and are Chip timed.
This event (the SHOE) is the third and final Capt'n Karl's Event of 2011. There are 3 races (10K, 30K, 60K) and all are on difficult rocky terrain. The 30K and 60K races are run mostly in darkness and will test your will, endurance, and mental toughness. A fair comparison for the 30K would be 7 times around the Hillview trail at Eisenhower Park, 4 of those after dark. A headlamp is required equipment.
The R.U.N. crew that raced and finished "the Falls" on August 6th.
Awards: Awards go to the top 5 overall, and top 3 masters (50+). Medals to every finisher. Tech T's to all who register before late cutoff. However cutoff has already past.
