The Atlanta Running Meetup is a community that promotes exercise for both walkers and runners, and so much more. The Atlanta Running Meetup is known for being casual and friendly, and has been dubbed "one of the best Atlanta running groups" in the city: http://www.citysbest.com/atlanta/news/2011/04/05/best-atlanta-running-groups/ I'm grateful for the large number of kind-hearted and compassionate people that I'm able to share my Saturday mornings with. Several people attending this group are also active members of other fantastic running groups that may meet at a more convenient time and place for you. See the link at the bottom of this page for a list. Over the last few years, we have evolved to a community that promotes friendships, networking opportunities, and yes, exercise. We truly are a grass roots community, and as a matter of principal, we have not accepted corporate sponsorships or advertising of any kind. This group promotes community, not a specific product or company. 

Most of our runs take place in Piedmont Park. With the recent expansion, the park offers some fantastic scenery and running paths. We meet at Caribou Coffee between 8:30am and 9:00am to socialize before the run. Caribou Coffee is located at the corner of 10th St. & Piedmont Ave (across the street from The Flying Biscuit). We leave Caribou at 9:00 am, and enter the park entrance at Piedmont Ave. & 12th Street. The routes are structured so that members can walk or run 2.5 or 5 miles, depending on personal preference. No one is left walking or running alone, unless they prefer that. One of the best parts of the morning is taking in a well deserved breakfast afterward with an amazing group of people. It's a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to meet other like-minded people. Feel free to send me (John Rempel) a message if you have any other questions. Parking

10th street, 11th street, 12th street, and Piedmont are options for parking, as well as side streets off of 10th Street like Myrtle St. It's not a good idea to leave your vehicle at Caribou while in the park, or any other surrounding businesses.
