Number practice games and conversation (eastside weekday evening)

Those comfortable with just conversing in Russian may do so (and native Russian speakers are welcome). But beginners and intermediate students might prefer some structure to the meeting, so I'll bring some games (Yahtzee, Uno, etc.) which anyone can play, so long as they say at least the numbers aloud in Russian. Anyway, it'll help us break the ice and help beginners to ease into conversations in Russian.

The venue is Dairy Queen. Note the later start time so I can arrive on time from work.

I'll have to do some searching to see which bars are not noisy. For now, I'm creating events at McMenamins because I'm comfortable going there. (One is coming up soon near Lloyd Center, by the way.) I don't know a lot of bars. But I'll look around. Feel free to make suggestions if you know any. If they're far enough east, I can organize the events. If they're on the west side, Zoe probably can. It's more difficult to find someone willing to organize events close to downtown Portland, but maybe we'll find someone eventually.

We had a fun time playing a card game (Mille Bornes) which used our Russian numbers up to 1000, with Oleg patiently correcting our pronunciation. In a couple of months, I plan to do this again, but with games using color words (Mastermind, Jenga Tetris, etc.). Thanks to those who came.

Hey guys, I'm a low-level Russian speaker (been repeating taped phrases for seven or eight months) looking to play some games and subject you to my grammatical gaffes! I work early so I can't stay late, but been looking for folks to practice with.

I'll be there Thursday! I just moved out from Denver and I'm sort of in a weird rusty area between beginner and low intermediate (better listening comprehension than anything else, lost a ton of vocabulary in the last seven years). I'd be very interested in regular conversation practice, structured or unstructured.

Please join us! Anyone who can count to at least 10 in Russian can participate. (Uno and Dominos use numbers 0-10, Yahtzee up to 36, Bingo 100, Payday 10,000+.)
