This group is for all events and discussions for Active 20-30 Clubs Sacramento #1 (men) and #1032 (women).
HISTORY OF Active 20-30:
The Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento was founded in 1922. The men's club (#1) of Sacramento was the founding club, therefore the women's club was the 1,032nd club installed. Active 20-30 has clubs all over the world! Members have an opportunity to attend national conventions in the United States as well as International Conventions in Costa Rica or DR, to name a few. Northern California has a variety of Active 20-30 clubs, visit our website to see all that the club has to offer!
The men's club typically meets on Thursdays, see the calendar for more details: http://www.sac2030.info/calendar/
The women's club typically meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays nights each month. See the calendar for more details: http://www.sacwomens2030.org/calendar.html
WHAT WE DO:
The club’s objective is to serve the community while building lasting friendships and rendering service to youth. Active 20-30 membership draws from all professions and is open to everyone ages 20-39. Our organization differs from many service organizations in that not only do we raise money for local area children’s charities, but we also host several “hands on” special events for disadvantaged and disabled youth where our members interact with the children. This ACTIVE participation solidifies our identity in the community, produces a high degree of personal satisfaction and builds lasting friendships.
We serve the children of the Greater Sacramento Area through direct contributions in excess of $85,000 annually. The distribution of these monies is voted on by the board of directors and general membership at our monthly board meetings. One hundred percent of all funds raised is applied to charities and charitable endeavors. Some of the groups we assist include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters, United Way, Family Service Agency, Sacramento Children’s Home, Oncology Ward in Sutter Memorial Hospital, Friday Night Live, Fairytale Town, B Street Theatre and Child and Family Institute, among others. We also do annual hands-on projects such as: Back to School Shopping Spree, UC Davis Cancer Kids Christmas Party, Special Needs Family Picnic, Pumpkin Patch, Operation YES2College, and many more...
