Classes are from 9:00 AM till noon, with a 20 minute midway break (unless otherwise noted). Non-members are encouraged to attend one workshop before joining. Join Bob in exploring the popular editing program, Photoshop Elements. It's inexpensive compared to its big brother Photoshop and does about 90% of the workload. If you have not been editing your photos you need to know about this program, its very powerful and can be learned within your lifetime unlike its big brother. It does lots of stuff but you only need to know some of the basics to take advantage of its power. Come join me and lets have some fun with editing.

Attendee led discussion. May include topics such as: the importance and storing of different strong passwords for each login and account; a strategy for safe online purchases; physical security for computer and other devices; securing your home wireless (WiFi) network; how to easily (for free) protect your Mac (and the people you exchange email, photos, and other items with) from viruses and other malware; easily creating reliable and robust backups that can even handle disasters (such as flood, fire, theft, or other loss); creating separate accounts for each user on your computer; email safety issues; keeping the computer, iPhone/iPad, and applications/apps updated and patched; the importance of regularly syncing and backing up your iPhone/iPad with/iTunes, being able to have the same bookmarks on various browsers even on different computers and devices; and using the free TeamViewer application to get (or give) remote help.

Drop in to the Grace's Café for casual Q&A, coffee, tea and light bites. Have a Mac, iPad, iPod or iPhone on the fritz? MacNexus members can bring it to Triage for expert insight. Folks with general questions, little or no prior computer or iPad/iPhone experience can drop in for advice from tech-savvy ladies and one-on-one style help available at the WITS table.
