Gamer's Grind Board Game Day

What: The Gamer's Grind though currently closed down is having a board game day at Round Table Pizza. We will be bringing a couple hundred games for people to play for FREE from our wall of games. Players will be able to check out games for free by leaving a drivers license (to ensure the game's return) and of course people are free to bring their own games.

Who: Primarily this is for anyone that enjoys playing board games of any kind. Avid hobby gamers, families, kids, party game lovers, casual gamers are all welcome. We just remind to any parents with kids that there obviously will be a lot of board games present with numerous tiny pieces. We also welcome any individuals that may be interested in participating in our reboot process. This can include potential financial partners and those with cafe managing experience interested in working on a boardgame cafe business model. We will not be pitching anything but will have information available and happy to answer questions. First and foremost this will be a game day event.

Game Donations?: We will be accepting game donations. We are actively trying to reboot the Gamer's Grind to it's original intended form. As some know we were meant to be a full board game café but a series of obstacles (to keep it simple) made that not happen and we were forced to open early in a very modified form. We will be providing wall of game passes to anyone that donates a game we do not currently have in our collection. We also ask that you have inside the game a post it or note with your name and email address in the case you would like the game returned in the event we do not successfully reboot the Gamer's Grind. Check our website for our current collection of games.

Activities: We will have a variety of activities during the day

After Play: We will be shooting a few episodes of After Play a Youtube game series where players comment on they game right after playing. Among others games we will be wanting players willing to be on video and talk about the game for Fluxx The Board Game, Red Shirts, Choose One (a party game) and many others. We will want to try to match players to game that have interest in the games within that genre ie there would be little point having players that hate party games to play and comment on a party game.

Ticket to Ride Iron Game Tournament: We will have a separate meet up posted for the Ticket to Ride Iron Game Tournament just click the link below.

Scheduled Games: We will be posting a schedule of specific games to be played on our website for those interested in playing specific games. Scheduled games will be listed on the Gamer's Grind website. If you would like to host a game at a specific time open to players please contact Ron Petersen here or on facebook through The Gamer's Grind page.

Give Aways: While supplies last we will be giving away promo cards to any players playing any games from Looney Labs. Including Fluxx, Fluxx the Board Game, Loony Pyramids (any of the pyramid games), Choose One, or Aquarius.

I have the scheduled games to be played up. The schedule may change time wise. But outside of that it is free for all play

Currently I am tracking a total of 40 confirmed attendees and 19 maybes (across multiple social media event postings and direct confirmations). If we get at least 15 more going confirmations I will be willing to bring two new games (Steve Jackson's Revolution and Red Lion Inn) over to the wall of games side. Tell a friend and for your any gamer friends let them know we will be having a good selection of family friendly games.

How late are you thinking this will go? We have our regularly scheduled RPG session the same afternoon, but can come by after if you're still going to be playing around 3 or 4.

Round Table is open 11am to 11pm and I plan on putting in a 12 hour day. In at 11 and out at 11 sharp on the out obviously. If you want, it would be fine for you to run your game there if you wanted to. If so let me know how many are coming. I am trying to track numbers.

It is still very early but so far I am tracking 17 attendees across the various social event platforms that have RVSPed and 3 maybes. We will be having a good strong turn out for this. Be sure not to miss out and tell a friend. This is going to be a blast!

Anybody up for Looney Pyramids games, I'll be bringing 7 rainbow stashes (that's... 105 pyramids total!), plus rules for about 30 different games.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
