What we’re about
Why join the Sacramento Hiking Meetup Group?
The Sacramento Hiking Meetup Group (SHMG) is one of the oldest and most premier event-led meetup group. We've been around over 12 years and enjoy a membership than 2000+ hiking enthusiasts.
The SHMG is proud of it's many Adventures, our members, and particularly our hard working and passionate hiking organizers. They are the ones who map, scout, plan and schedule hikes that hikers of all levels will enjoy.
All members (Sacramento Hikers) can suggest a Meetup (event). Once a Meetup is adopted by an Organizer, or when 3 Sacramento Hikers sign on, the event will be considered a "Go" and will be announced to all Sacramento Hikers.
Our group meets many times a month and ride-sharing is encouraged to local areas in Auburn, the desolation wilderness in the Sierras, coastal, urban and midtown hikes. Whether we're on a scenic trail looking at abundant flowers; admiring the different species of trees or being on top of a mountain enjoying the scenic views and feeling the air in solitude, we are together in sharing the moment of just being there. Come and join us and yes, let's get outside!
See you on the Trail!
