Up for a midweek hike workout that's better than the gym? You've done Training Hill before and want to try something different that's more fun and a bit extra challenging?
Come join us for a two hour hike that starts at the Upper Stagecoach Trail and links up to what we aptly named Kick A** Hills. These hills are a series of continuous hills that grades from 10 to 40 degrees up and each one is a climb that stretches from 30 to 70 feet in length.

As the title indicates, this hike is classified as advanced and all hikers are expected to keep up with the group's pace. Kick-a** Hill represents a challenge to most particularly if they haven't done it before. The group generally waits for everyone at the top of the hill then continue by crossing Foresthill Bridge and finish the easy trail on a loop heading back to the trail's conclusion. There is construction underway at the bridge so we'll make our way thru it. Please do not change the trail course. Bring plenty of water, snacks, headlamp, poles if you have them and gloves to prevent slippage and most important, a happy attitude.

(Alan is off to an exotic extended vacation but Cheryl has graciously offered to be this event's host. I'll see you guys later!)

TRAILHEAD DIRECTIONS: Take I-80 towards Reno and exit at Lincoln Way in Auburn. Turn right then make a left turn on Russell Rd. It is the first road to your left. Follow Russell for about a 3/4 mile on a winding road and you'll find parking at the end. The trail starts here to the left at the green gate.

Missy wanted me to tell you she had one of the best times of her life! (I mean... if she could talk, that's what she'd say). Took her a while to stand up straight this morning. Another great hike! Thanks.

She was such a joy to have along! Why do I itch so much today and feel bumpy?

Cool. Ya, glad I brought her. Love to see dogs in their favorite environment. Not sure if I should bring her next week. Just looked at the weather and it will be 90 degrees in Rocklin. What?! Maybe we'll just bring smaller tires...

Thank you, to all of you for the great hike we had yesterday. Hiking with this group made for the best day of the week for me. ( I came home feeling a little tire )

    Have a GREAT week

Just love Cheryl's groups, these are the best times Loved everyone in this group. The weather, the hike and scenery can not be beat. Looking forward to next Wednesday and I'll be reving it up again by adding the weight of the two tires in tow. Thank-you so much.

Might bring my brother's dog. Would that be ok?

    April 17, 2013

    • Cheryl Z

That's fine. Just a reminder, there is a lot of poison oak on the trail and dogs love that stuff!

If you would like to GPS the closest address is 880 Foresthill Avenue.
Russell Road turns into Foresthill Avenue at the Trail Head.

I would not exactly call it the end of the Road??

If you are coming via Auburn Folsom Road?

Foresthill Avenue is about 5-10 minutes shorter in distance.

I live directly above the Trail and would like to invite to either a Pre- or Post Hike Barbecue?
