I will not be at this week's hike, but some of the "regulars" will be, so just meet at the Quarry Trailhead and go up Boot Buster Hill and then see where you want to go after - either Training Hill, or Kick Ass Hill - or BOTH!
As the title indicates, this hike is classified as advanced and all hikers are expected to keep up with the group's pace.
Depending on route taken, this hike can take from 2-4 hours and covers anywhere from 5-8+ miles.
Most importantly - HAVE FUN!
Bring plenty of water, snacks, headlamp, poles if you have them and gloves to prevent slippage and most important, a happy attitude.
TRAILHEAD DIRECTIONS: Take I-80 towards Reno and exit at Elm Ave in Auburn. Turn left at the stoplight, and another left and the next stoplight, following the signs towards Cool (Hwy. 49S). After you wind down into the canyon, turn right at the confluence. After you cross the bridge, you will find parking along the side of the road. Parking here is free. The Quarry Trailhead is on the opposite side of the road, and approx. 1/4 mile up from the confluence.
