Upper Stagecoach to Kick A** Hill - Advanced

Up for a midweek hike workout that's better than the gym?

We'll start out on on the Upper Stagecoach Trailhead, located on Russell Road, then head up Kick Ass Hill. These are a series of continuous hills with grades from 10 to 40 degrees up and each one is a climb that stretches from 30 to 70 feet in length.

As the title indicates, this hike is classified as advanced and all hikers are expected to keep up with the group's pace. Kick-a** Hill represents a challenge to most particularly if they haven't done it before. The group generally waits for everyone at the top of the hill then continue by crossing Foresthill Bridge and coming back up Upper Stagecoach.

Bring plenty of water, snacks, headlamp, poles if you have them and gloves to prevent slippage and most important, a happy attitude.

TRAILHEAD DIRECTIONS: Take I-80 towards Reno and exit at Lincoln Way in Auburn. Turn right at the stop sign, then left at the next street, which is Russell Road. Go down Russell Road, approximately a mile and you will see parking spaces on the left hand side of the road. Parking here is free.

Total mileage is approximately 6 miles and takes about 2 hours.

A nice peacful evening hike, peppered with a close brush with the law, good conversation and some unknown glowing eyes reflecting back at us. Sorry to end it suddenly with the blasting of my car alarm!

You scared Kathy so much with your car alarm, that she dropped her keys and couldn't find them! :) It is always a fun adventure out on them thar hills!

I had a great time once again! While scaling kicking ass, I noticed that it looked like some crazies tried to climb it last week in the rain! What were they thinking? Cool breezes, heart pumping fun and good friends!! Looking forward to it again!

Should stay home and will My dog has to be monitored for self suture/staple removal, already spent an extra $140. to get re-stapled and a vet lecture for not wearing his cone head ughh. Great day for a hike. Will someone please remove my name/# from the bathrooms? The responses are overwhelming and beginning to be stressful. Thx

OK, Kathy and I will put tape over your name and #, just in case you change your mind, then you can remove the tape next week. I hope your dog heals quickly.

We took care of it, Bonnie. Just wrote your physical address so your phone won't ring as much. ;)

Got into poison oak last weekend. Almost gone, but don't want to risk aggravating it. Have fun. See you next week.

Hello, I live in the Natomas neighborhood in Sacramento. I would like a round trip ride if anyone lives in Sacramento, west Sac, or Davis can swing by. I will help pay for carpool.
