Cardiac Bypass Hike and Tailgate (Intermediate)

Please see comments area for current contact information day of hike.

Come join us to an excellent midweek hike that's about 5.5 miles long prior to the weekend. The entire hike is awe-inspiring over terrain of beautiful scenery which includes a long waterfall that cascades into the river below where we'll stop to marvel at the view. This complete hike is over lush greenery of mountains, hills, amid a wide variety of trees. Past the river, we'll traverse a long uphill climb so you could experience breathing challenges and joint pain so keep these conditions in mind. The hike is classified as intermediate so be considerate before you rsvp.  We tailgate after the hike and generally wrap up by 8:30.

This is a dog friendly event so bring 'em along. They'll be grateful you did.

Bring water, headlamp, food/snacks/beverages to share, a smile and a gentle attitude.

Please follow these directions and not the map link.

We'll meet at the trailhead: Take the I-80 towards Reno and exit at Newcastle Rd. heading straight to Indian Hill Rd. Turn left at Auburn-Folsom Rd. and a right turn on Maidu Dr. Go straight on Maidu until it dead ends where you'll see a green gate (not the first one). Park along the sides.  The hike starts on the other side of the green gate down the hill.  If you just missed us, send a text to the leader or call out, we might still hear you.

Hey Everybody! I am new to the group and love to hike... well, I love nature, I think it is medicine, and fun fact: Hippocrates said, "walking is man's best medicine"... the father of medicine himself. Anyways, my question, does anybody in the group live in sacramento? I live in West Sacramento and would love to carpool (i'll pitch in for gas) as my truck was wrecked during the last rainstorm and I've been on bike since. Let me know!
