Let's do it again! Third time this summer -  hiking all three hills in one night - Boot Buster, Training Hill and Kick Ass Hill.

We will meet at the Quarry Trailhead, 1/4 mile up the road (on the opposite side) from the green gate that leads to Training Hill.

From here we will warm up, as we walk along the river at a moderately fast pace and then head on up Boot Buster Hill. After completing Boot Buster Hill, we will cross back over Hwy. 49, and head up the trail that leads to Training Hill. Since we are already warmed up, we will go up Training Hill as fast as we can, and come back down quickly. We will cross back over Hwy. 49 and head up Kick Ass Hill, cross the Foresthill Bridge and come back the Bridge View Trail.

Those who wish to complete all three hills will be in for quite a workout and should bring plenty of water, a headlamp (just in case), gloves and trekking poles. The hike is estimated to be about 10 miles long and hopefully completed in 4 hours.

PLEASE NOTE: This hike is not for beginners! Everyone should be able to hike at a moderately fast pace, and bring plenty of snacks and water for their own needs.

Due to the location of our parked cars (near gate #150), anyone can choose to do just one or two of the hills, as we will be walking by, or near, the cars after each hill.

Looking forward to seeing you all there :)

Directions: From Hwy. 80, heading east towards Auburn, take the Elm Street Exit. Turn left at the stoplight, following signs for 49S, towards Placerville and Cool. Turn left at the next stoplight, onto Hwy. 49S. Continue down Hwy. 49 into the canyon, and turn right at the confluence. Cross over the bridge and start looking for places to park on the right side of the road. Parking here is free. The trailhead is on the other side of the road, about 1/4 mile up from the bridge. There is parking here, but costs $10.

What a great evening. Mild and gentle stroll, skinny dipping in the river, wine coolers and Sherpa’s to carry our stuff...wait, that's the other group. Dang it. Sorry. Another wonderful hard trek in Sweatsville, CA. Thanks all for making it so fun. Great to see some new faces and some old friends too.

We did it! All three hills, plus a jump in the river. It was a wonderful evening hike. We had a special treat with our awesome Lee joining us. It was so nice to see him. We also had some newbies join us - so a big welcome to them. I hope you all join us again. Thanks to everyone coming out and making these hikes so much fun.

I'll bring my water filter along. We can refill water from the river after the second hill if anyone needs more. We going to need to remember to drink plenty tomorrow.
