Up for a midweek hike workout that's better than the gym? You've done Training Hill before and want to try something different that's more fun and a bit extra challenging?
Come join us for a two hour hike that starts at the Upper Stagecoach Trail and links up to what we aptly named Kick A** Hills. These hills are a series of continuous hills that grades from 10 to 40 degrees up and each one is a climb that stretches from 30 to 70 feet in length.
As the title indicates, this hike is classified as advanced and all hikers are expected to keep up with the group's pace. Kick-a** Hill represents a challenge to most particularly if they haven't done it before. The group generally waits for everyone at the top of the hill then continue by crossing Foresthill Bridge and finish the easy trail on a loop heading back to the trail's conclusion. There is construction underway at the bridge so we'll make our way thru it. Please do not change the trail course. Bring plenty of water, snacks, headlamp, poles if you have them and gloves to prevent slippage and most important, a happy attitude.
TRAILHEAD DIRECTIONS: Take I-80 towards Reno and exit at Lincoln Way in Auburn. Turn right then make a left turn on Russell Rd. It is the first road to your left. Follow Russell for about a 3/4 mile on a winding road and you'll find parking at the end. The trail starts here to the left at the green gate.
